Teresa Watkins is a landscape designer, horticulturist, garden author, and radio personality who designed the landscaping for Florida’s first certified “green home.” She collaborates with custom builders, commercial properties, and homeowners to create distinctive, attractive, award-winning sustainable gardens. Her landscape design company, Sustainable Horticultural Environments, has earned the Best of Houzz Service award for 11 consecutive years.
Over the past 28 years, more than 44,000 people—including green industry professionals, Master Gardeners, Master Naturalists, garden clubs, and homeowners—have attended Teresa’s landscaping presentations and educational programs. Her talks cover topics ranging from themed landscape design and sustainability to xeriscaping.
A veteran radio host of two garden shows, including In Your Backyard, Teresa now hosts the award-winning Better Lawns and Gardens, Florida’s most popular syndicated garden program. The show airs statewide on iHeart stations, including WFLA-Orlando, and streams wherever podcasts are available.
Teresa is a member of Garden Communicators International, and she and her husband Tony own Art in Bloom Garden Tours. Together, they enjoy traveling, leading garden tours, and visiting notable gardens across the country and around the world on her “bucket”—or, as she says, “bouquet”—list.
